Narrative-based research can be applied to a wide variety of projects. We use the Learning Stage Model as our starting point. Sometimes we complete all stages of the Learning Stage Model, while other times stages 1 or 2 suffice. This depends on the nature of the project and the client’s wishes.

Improving the organizational culture of the Joint Fire Brigade Rotterdam

The Joint Fire Brigade of Rotterdam asked us to identify areas for improvement in its organizational culture and leadership. Because organizational culture is shaped by everyone within the organization, we adopted a broad research approach, including not only the Repression department (the 24-hour shift staffed by shift commanders and crew members), but also the day shift team leaders, management team members, and the director.
